You sit down with me and we look at the cards together. I explain what I see and how the ideas may connect to your life. We talk through what comes up.

I recommend a general reading. This means we do not start with one fixed question. If you want a specific focus, I can try, but the cards may point us somewhere else.

In-person sessions are full readings only. They last about 25–30 minutes.

We start with your planetary placements and houses, the parts of your chart that describe different traits and areas of life. A personal report, explained in plain language.

What is included in my report?

A personal report of about 10–15 pages. We begin with your placements and houses.

  • Your placements: the planets and signs in your chart, and the traits they may describe.
  • Your houses: areas of life, such as home, work and relationships.
  • The whole picture: how the different parts connect.

Your report is written for you. It is not an instant download. Ask about the delivery time before ordering if you need it by a certain date.

What do I need to send you?

Your date of birth, time of birth and birthplace. After paying through Square, email these details to openeyeastrology@gmail.com. Use the same name and email as your order.

If you do not know your birth time, contact me before ordering. We can talk about what I can read without it.

An advanced chart builds on your first report. We look more closely at exact planet positions, called degrees, and the planets moving now, called transits. We can discuss the focus and price before you book.

Birth chartYour starting point

A birth chart is a map of where the planets were when you were born. In astrology, we use this map to explore personality, patterns and different areas of life.

Your date, time and place of birth help me build this map.

PlacementsPlanets and signs

A placement tells us where a planet is in your birth chart. For example, you may know your Sun sign. That is one part of your chart. Your Moon and the other planets add more parts to the picture.

HousesAreas of your life

The chart has 12 parts called houses. Each one is linked to an area of life, such as home, work or relationships. We look at these alongside your planetary placements.

A birth time helps us read the houses more accurately.

DegreesA closer look

Degrees show the exact position of a planet within a sign. An advanced chart uses this extra detail to look more closely at your placements.

TransitsThe planets moving now

The planets keep moving after you are born. A transit reading compares where they are now with your birth chart. In astrology, this is one way to explore current themes and changes.

General tarotNo question needed

A general tarot reading starts without one fixed question. I let the cards tell me what needs to be said, explain what I see and talk it through with you.

    Come to your appointment, or read your personal report. You do not need to understand everything at once. We can discuss a chart appointment if you want to go through your report together.

I started by trying to figure myself out. Astrology and tarot gave me a different way to look at things, and the more I learned, the more I wanted to share it.

I think we’re a little kinder to people when we understand them. Ourselves included. That’s what Open Eye is about for me: getting past the surface and making room for the whole person.

Your birth chart stays the same. What you do with that understanding is yours. I’m here to help you make sense of it.

THE PERSON BEHIND OPEN EYE

Hi, I’m René.

I’m the person behind Open Eye. I’ve been practising astrology and tarot since 2018, and I still love that moment when something starts to make sense to someone.

With tarot, I let the cards lead. With astrology, I look at the whole chart. Either way, we talk it through. You don’t need to show up with the right words or a perfectly thought-out question.

I’ve done hundreds of readings this year alone. I’m so thankful for everyone who has sat at my table and trusted me enough to do a reading. I can’t wait to see who’s next.

How do I choose between tarot and astrology?

Choose tarot if you would like a conversation led by the cards. Choose a birth chart report if you want to explore your astrology in writing. If you already have a report and want to talk through it, ask about an in-person chart discussion. You can also message me before choosing.

Will a reading tell me what I have to do?

No. A reading offers another way to look at your life. Your choices are still your own. My aim is to help you understand yourself, not to make decisions for you.

Do I need to know anything about tarot or astrology?

No. For tarot, I always recommend a general reading. You don’t need a question; I let the cards tell me what needs to be said. If you really want to focus on something specific, I can try, but the cards sometimes have other ideas. I’ll explain the reading as we go, in everyday language.

How long is a tarot reading?

At events, a quick check-in is about 10 minutes (C$40), and a full reading is 20–25 minutes (C$80). Booked in-person tarot sessions are full readings only, lasting around 25–30 minutes. Individual in-person readings are C$80. Enquire for appointment availability.

What information do you need for a birth chart?

Your birth date, birth time and birthplace. If you don’t know your birth time, get in touch before ordering so we can talk about what’s possible and what will be less precise.

How do astrology readings work?

I always begin with a birth chart report covering your planetary placements and houses. Reports are C$75. After that, if you’d like more detail, I can create an advanced chart reading that explores degrees and transits.

Can I have a reading in person?

Yes. The Tarot Shed in St. Thomas, Ontario is a calm, cosy space for in-depth astrology or tarot readings. Come alone or with friends. Individual in-person readings are C$80, for a full tarot reading or a discussion of your astrology chart or birth chart report. Tarot appointments last around 25–30 minutes. A new birth chart report is purchased separately. Confirm your appointment before using the Square payment link. Group timing and pricing are arranged when you enquire.

How do online orders work?

For an online tarot reading, get in touch to confirm the format, availability and price before paying. Birth chart reports are C$75 and can be purchased through secure Square checkout. Any applicable tax is shown at checkout. After paying, email your birth date, birth time and birthplace to openeyeastrology@gmail.com, using the name and email on your order. Reports are prepared personally and are not instant downloads. Ask about turnaround time before ordering if you need a reading by a specific date.

Can I ask a question before choosing a reading?

Of course. Email openeyeastrology@gmail.com or send a message on Instagram. You don’t have to know which reading you want before getting in touch.
